Classic Burger

Servings: 2 Total Time: 21 mins Difficulty: Beginner
Soft bun, juicy patty, a generous layer of smoky sauce — and just enough crunch to keep things interesting.
Klassikaline burger

This classic burger may look familiar, but there’s a clever twist tucked inside: salted peanuts in the cabbage salad and just the right amount of smoked paprika in the sauce. It’s the kind of meal that satisfies like only a proper burger can.
Whether you’re building this beauty in your indoor kitchen, sizzling it over a fire in the forest, or grilling outdoors on a summer evening — the result is always equally rewarding. Choose your bun depending on your mood: the classic white, pillowy soft version is hard to beat, but a wholemeal or even rye bun will bring a heartier note if you’re leaning a healthier way.
So fire up the pan (or the flames), roll up your sleeves, and let’s build a burger worth remembering.

Preparation

  1. Start with the burgers. In a bowl, mix the minced beef with finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, flour, egg, olive oil, and seasoning. Knead until smooth, then shape into two large burgers. Fry the burgers in a pan over medium heat, about 3 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.
  2. Now prepare the cabbage salad. Finely slice the red cabbage, then combine in a bowl with salted peanuts, mayonnaise, and yoghurt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Next up, make the sauce in a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, sour cream, smoked paprika, crushed garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. All that is left is to assemble the burgers. Warm the burger buns in a dry pan or on a grill. Place a slice of Cheddar on each bottom half and allow it to melt slightly while warming (cover the pan with a lid). Top with a lettuce leaf, pickled cucumber, a slice of bell pepper, and a generous spoonful of the cabbage salad. Add a few tablespoons of smoky sauce, then place the patty on top. Finish with the top half of the bun.
  5. Repeat with the second burger, and serve while warm. Napkins highly recommended. ;)
